The Harvest
We praise the Lord for granting us the opportunity to minister in the Dominican Republic. He is at work in the hearts of people here and we wait in anticipation to see what He is going to do next. Just last week 2 women who have been attending a ladies meeting in Los Fundos, one of the church plants, accepted Christ. The women have been faithful to attend church & Bible Study, and now they have taken their first act of obedience in faith to believe in Jesus Christ. Pray that they would grown in knowledge and love of our Savior Jesus Christ.
Water Filters
Also the distribution & training of water filters is in effect. Not only are we excited to pass out these filters to see effects of clean water in rural villages, but the people’s response has been overwhelming. We have begun passing out the filters first to those within the church, and Lord willing after the family of God has received filters we can begin passing out to the communities. Pray for wisdom as we determine who gets the filters as you can image the reaction to the possibility of the first time in your life having clean water that you don’t have to pay for.
Haiti
This is the third week of sending groups to either the border town of Jimani or into Haiti. In the first 2 weeks there was much medical needs & food distribution. Praise the Lord this week, the medical needs are starting to slow down. Continue to pray for our leadership that we would follow the Lord’s leading of where and how many people should go next week.
The Battle
As with any mission trip or ministry in general some are not always coming with the purest of motives. Recently we have had a couple of instances that selfish motives have clearly been demonstrated. Please continue to pray for our staff and the groups that they would submit first to the Lord and then also to the body of Christ. Many of our staff, especially Tim Craiger, Bob Nielson (medical coordinator), and Ryan are exhausted to say the least. Please pray first for their time with the Lord, that it would not be neglected during these days. Pray also for the Lord to be their strength.
