Last week it was our privilege to once again host Shanna (Zolman) Crossley and Sidney Spencer. These girls traveled with us in 2004 (DR) and in 2005 (CR) when they were playing under Pat Summit at the University of Tennessee. They are both currently playing in the WNBA. Shanna is at the San Antonio Silver Stars and Sidney was traded (while in the DR) from the Los Angeles Sparks to the New York Liberty.
The above picture is at Monday’s press conference to announce the week’s activities. Shanna and Sid joined King College’s women’s basketball team to help run basketball clinics and play games. The WNBA players spent time mentoring and challenging the college girls to walk with the Lord, play hard and to use whatever platform God gives them in their lives. We saw several Dominican girls give their lives over to Christ during the week and now all those who gave us their contact information will be followed up by a local church in the coming weeks.

On Saturday, May 2, we hosted our very first soccer tournament at the Rawlings Complex. Rawlings built us 2 baseball fields, a softball field, tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts and a soccer field. On the same property, a camp that will sleep 900 is under construction and next year construction will start on the Bible Institute.
12pm
We saw 12 young people accept Christ as their personal Savior as a result of this tournament. The great things about it is that this is a ministry of our church planting team and these teens will be followed up and discipled by those in our local church.

On April 27th, Tim and Ginny Craiger (Directors in the DR) celebrated their 36th anniversary. With orders from Ron Bishop (President of SCORE), we helped them celebrate by decorating their vehicle. Megan had no problem stepping up to help. While Aby Prado (Church planting missionary) distracted Tim, the rest of us got busy.
12pm
Tim’s quote “On this, our 36th anniversary, we are celebrating 34 of the best years of our lives.” We love Tim’s humorous personality.

April was a great month. In it we saw the land cleared for our new church plant in San Pedro. The trenches are now dug, the rebar is in place and has been inspected and the footers are now being poured. In July, Construction for Worldwide Evangelism (CWE), will come and in 4 weeks will build the church from ground up!
12pm
More Land! The church project will only take up 1/3 of the property that we own in San Pedro. Lord willing we will be able to build a boys orphanage, the transition home (for girls out of the orphanages) and a Christian School here as well.
12pm
We were especially grateful for the 6 men from Grace Baptist Temple (TN) for helping us paint our facility. They traveled with a medical team from their church and donated their time and a paint sprayer to our ministry. The medical team even pitched in during their free time to help get as much done as possible.
12pm
A rather tall order-Our complex is a huge project consisting of 4 large buildings (3 of the 4 are two stories)! We are still in need of others to help us finish painting. Please contact us if you or anyone you know would be interested in helping.

At the beginning of the month we hosted a ladies retreat for the SCORE missionary ladies. The women from Westmeade Baptist Church, AL brought gifts special for each missionary lady. They did a two day conference and took the women out for a nice dinner. They pampered them with treats (from the US), manicures, pedicures, haircuts and more.
12pm
The women also ministered in an orphanage and an old folks home together. All of our female staff was very refreshed by the visit from the ladies at WBC.

Dominican Pastors Conference
We would really appreciate your prayers for todays (Monday, April 27) conference. We are hosting about 20 pastors, from the San Pedro area, to create an association of churches. They are all fundamental, Bible believing/teaching churches. Our desire is to partner with like-minded local churches so that follow up and discipleship occurs in all areas of our ministry. We want to support churches without being a burden but also not create a dependancy on SCORE or our groups. This confernce will be with pastors from the San Pedro area (20 minutes from our hotel), where the majority of of our mininstry occures.
We are also in the process of meeting with Pastors in Santo Domingo (where most of our sports ministry is done) to accomplish the same goal. In the Capital we are meeting with churches on a more individual basis.
Please hold us up in prayer as we seek to glorify the Lord in all that we do. Pray for a great responce from the San Pedro pastors today. Please also pray for our meetings with the Santo Domingo Pastors.

Our director of church planting, Aby Prado and I were able to be on a local TV program talking about SCORE’s ministry and sports. It was a great opportunity to let the Dominicans know what we are doing in their country and also to share with them about the new church plant in San Pedro.
We had 4 groups in the country this last week including a medical team, a church group and 2 Christian School groups. For more on them, check out the Directors Report at www.scoreiternational.org, click News Room then News Stories.

Megan was able to put her knowledge of Science to good use helping to teach two missionary kids (Sophia and Joel Prado). She is teaching Physical Science and Earth Science two times a week and will eventually get to Chemistry.
If you did not receive our March update letter, send me an e-mail at ryan.score@juno.com and we will send it to you. Thank you for your prayers!

This week we welcomed Worthington Christian School from Columbus, OH. They were comprised of 60+ students so they split into 3 groups. One group traveled with a medical team and two groups did VBS ministry in different villages. They spent about $1000 a day buying groceries for the people in the villages and they distributed it through the local church. Meeting people’s physical needs helps open the door to meet their spiritual needs as well. I was able to translate for the leader and then present the Gospel in Pastor Many’s church—Monte Largo. Megan began discipling 2 of our interns here at the SCORE complex.
